In my line of work I end up spending more time on managing and organizing projects that I actually do on the project work itself. That being said I am always looking for easy ways to quickly organize and structure projects for my clients and work team. Microsoft Project is great for large scale projects, but for quick one off projects I have been using Microsoft Planner, and it is working great.
Microsoft just introduced Planner for general release for all Office 365 customers. If you login to your office 365 and click on the app launcher you will now see Microsoft Planner. Similar to Microsoft’s new Group feature, when you create a project/plan it automatically creates a shared notebook, file storage, and project/tasks area. You can easily create project/task buckets and the delineate and assign tasks to team mates. In one graphical interface you are able to track progress and see the charts for the project. Take a look at the Microsoft Planner video below and start getting those projects organized.
